Bering Strait Bridge

Bering Strait Bridge

The Bering Strait bridge is a theoretical structure over Bering straith connecting Cape Dezhnev in Chukotka, Russia and Cape Prince of Wales in Alaska, United States. This link would connect Asia, Africa and Europe with North and South America. This bridge could be spanned by a series of three bridges via the Diomede Islands, and would be long about 80 km (or 50 miles). Two of three bridges between islands would be longer than currently longest sea-crossing bridge in the world – Hangzhoy Bay Bridge.

Nakheel Tower

Nakheel TowerNakheel Tower is a proposed skyscraper in the city of Dubai (UAE), which according to their final project started in 2010 and measured over a kilometer high. It was known at the previous stages of its design under the name of Al Burj (The Tower in Arabic).

At the time of its completion, scheduled for 2020, is expected to become the world's tallest building and the tallest structure built by man. This title is currently held on a provisional Burj Dubai skyscraper, located in Dubai and is in the final stages of construction.

At first, the Al Burj would be placed in the center of the trunk of the Palm Jumeirah artificial island and its height would be 700 m and 120 floors.

Bering Strait Tunnel

Bering Strait TunnelThe tunnel under the Bering Strait is a proposed rail tunnel under the Bering Strait, recurrent since the nineteenth century.

In 1890, William Gilpin, who was the first territorial governor of Colorado, is the first to imagine such a project as part of a Cosmopolitan Railway, a railway network on a global scale, in his book Cosmopolitan Railway : Compacting and Fusing Together All the World's Continents at a time when the huge Alaska was a former Russian territory acquired by the United States only since 1867.

Burj Dubai

Burj Dubai Burj Dubai is a skyscraper currently under construction in the city of Dubai in the UAE, which, upon completion, will be the tallest structure ever built by humans. On July 21, 2007, as announced by the sponsoring company, Emaar Properties, the Dubai Tower broke the record held by the tall Taipei 101. On January 17, 2009, apparently, the Burj Dubai has reached its maximum altitude -818 meters, information that is confirmed by an article on the internet. However, the promoter has not confirmed this event.

At first, the Burj Dubai would have the name "Tower Groll", measuring 570 meters, enough to make it the world's tallest building, and would be placed in Australia. The shape of the skyscrapers had nothing with the current design. He would take the form of a prism with a lighted tip.

Trans-Atlantic tunnel

trans-atlantic tunnel

Trans-Atlantic tunnel is a theoretical tunnel under the Atlantic between Europe (London) and North America (New York), so the two continents together to connect. The tunnel would use magnetic levitation trains. With advanced technologies, it speeds will be from 500 to 8.000 km/h.

Plans for a tunnel as they are never touched the conceptual phase, and no one currently pursues this project. The most common route is that between the United States and the United Kingdom, or, more specifically, New York and London. The main obstacles to building such a tunnel are the costs - possibly $12 trillion - and the limits of current knowledge of materials. Even if existing large tunnels, such as the Channel Tunnel and Seikantunnel, less advanced technology than any trans-Atlantic tunnel. The price remains the biggest breaker. A trans-Atlantic tunnel is about 200 times longer than the longest current tunnel and would be 3000 times as much as costs.
