Statue Of Liberty

"Liberty Enlightening the World" , known as the Statue of Liberty, is one of the most famous New York State U.S. and worldwide. It is located on Liberty Island south of the island of Manhattan, near the mouth of the Hudson River near Ellis Island. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French to the Americans in 1886 to commemorate the centennial of the Declaration of Independence of the United States and as a sign of friendship between the two nations. It was inaugurated on October 28, 1886 in the presence of U.S. President at the time, Grover Cleveland. The statue is the work of French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and the internal structure was designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel.

White House

The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States.

The White House was based on the project of Villa Rotunda by Palladio. It is Renaissance or neoclassical Greek Revival in America, which was designed and built by George Washington in 1790. James Hoban's Irish architect who designed the White House. President George Washington, along with the designer of the city, Pierre Charles L'Enfant, chose the site would be built. Through an architect competition was elected, a native of Dublin, who won the gold medal for the presentation of the design we know today.

The design of the White House was inspired by the Leinster House (Dublin), and Castletown House (Celbridge), both in the style of Palladian architecture.

Sydney Opera

Sydney Opera House, located in the city of Sydney, State of New South Wales, Australia, is one of the most famous and distinctive buildings of the twentieth century. In 2007 declared a World Heritage site, was designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1957 and opened in 1973. In the building are made theater, ballet, opera or musical productions. It is headquarters of the company Opera Australia, the Sydney Theater Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Is administered by the Opera House Trust, a public body under the supervision of the New South Wales Ministry of Arts.

The Opera House of Sydney is a construction with an expressionist radically innovative design, comprising a large number of prefabricated shells, each one taken from the same hemisphere, which form the vaults of the structure. The Opera House covers 1.8 hectares (4.5 acres). It has 183 meters (605 feet) long and about 120 meters (388 feet) at its widest point. It is supported by 580 pillars sunk to a depth of 25 meters below sea level. Its power supply has a capacity equivalent to the power consumption of a city of 25,000 people. Energy is distributed through 645 miles of cable.

Grand Canyon Skywalk

Grand Canyon Skywalk

While not located in the Grand Canyon National Park, it is located in a smaller part of the same canyon system, offering a view like no other can.

Owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribe, the Skywalk will be the first-ever cantilever shaped glass walkway to suspend more than 4,000 feet above the canyon’s floor and extend 70 feet from the canyon’s rim. March 28, 2007 as the official public opening date of The Skywalk.

Access to The Skywalk will run from dawn to dusk and will cost $25 per person in addition to the cost of a Grand Canyon Hualapai West entrance package. One hundred and twenty people will be allowed on the bridge at a time. Admittance is first come, first serve for walk up visitors; however, reservations can be made. Guests will enter and exit the walkway via temporary buildings while the adjacent visitor’s center is being completed. The Hualapai Tribe plans to issue numbered shoe covers, in order to avoid scratches and slipping, to each visitor that enters the open-air walkway.

Petronas Twin Towers

The Petronas Twin Towers are acclaimed to be the tallest twin buildings of the world. Located at KLCC complex in Kuala Lumpur, Twin Towers undoubtedly are the pride of Malaysia. These buildings were constructed during 1992-1998 though were officially opened in 1999. They were assumed to be world's tallest structure from 1998 till 2004, however, the construction of Taipei 101 surpassed them with its additional 13 floors in 2004. Petronas, the national oil company of Malaysia, embarked to build the tallest building in the world.

Cesar Pelli, an Argentine-American architect, designed these towers that were tallest in the world on the date of completion. The 88-floor towers are raised mainly of reinforced concrete, with their façade crafted in steel and glass. Petronas Towers are a glistening example of modern hi-tech architecture and reverence of established religion, as the marvelous facade bears motifs found in Islamic art. Since the bedrock was deep, the buildings came to be known as the towers erected on the world's deepest foundations.

Oresund Bridge

oresund bridgeThe Oresund Bridge connects the two metropolitan areas of the Oresund Region: the Danish capital Copenhagen and the Swedish town Malmo. It has two rail-road tracks and four-lane road. Oresund Bridge is the longest combined rail-road bridge in Europe. The international European route E20 passes through this bridge.

Bridge was completed August 14, 1999. The Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark and the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria met in the middle of the bridge to celebrate its completion. The official opening was on July 1, 2000, attended by Queen Margaret II of Denmark and King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. The bridge was opened to traffic the same day. Before the inauguration 79,871 runners competed in a half marathon distance (Broloppet, the Bridge Run) from Amager (in Denmark) and Skane (Sweden) on June 12, 2000.

Hangzhou Bay Bridge

Hangzhou Bay Bridge is the largest bridge ever built in China. The bridge links Shanghai to Ningbo in Zhejiang Province, cutting the traveling distance between the two port cities by 120 km and driving time from 4 to 2 hours. The 10 billion yuan, S-shaped bridge will shorten the ground distance between Ningbo and Shanghai. Its completion will add two records to bridge construction history. Around 36 kilometers in length, it will be the longest trans-ocean bridge in the world. It will also have been the most difficult to construct.

Moscow Kremlin is a group of fortifications and civic and religious buildings in the heart of Moscow, opposite the Moscova River in the south, the Red Square in the East and the Alexander Garden in the west .
It is the best known of the Kremlin, including four Russians and four palaces cathedrals, grouped inside an enclosure delimited by the walls of the Kremlin, including the towers of the Kremlin.
In the eleventh and twelfth centuries was a Slav population, with a small town, the fortified home of the local boyars Kuchka. In ancient times the word "kreml" used to describe the walls in the center of a city. In 1147 Moscow was mentioned first in the annals. In 1156 a trench was dug and built a wall of earth. By the end of the twelfth century fortress was built around a strong colony of merchants and artisans gathered in Moscow as a haven. Moscow then occupied the entire third part of the area of the current Kremlin. In 1238 the city was opposed to the Mongol hordes in the thirteenth century, while the country recovers from the devastation by the Mongols and the Tatars, Moscow gained prominence.
